Management Associate Program Overview

Become a subject matter expert in these areas of professional interest: Finance, Actuarial, Human Resources, and Information Technology. Over the course of 24 months, each participant will move through three structured rotations in one of four possible functional tracks:

Outcomes, Opportunities, & Compensation

Participants will have the opportunity to become a subject matter expert in one of four key business areas. Associates will complete their three six-month rotations at TMNA Services, our shared services company, to develop their skills in key functional disciplines to best determine their ideal fit within the Tokio Marine Group.

Successful participants may be offered placement as a full-time associate at one of our global locations upon completion of the program. Tokio Marine Group company offices are located throughout Asia, North America, Latin America, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

Compensation for participation in this program is highly competitive based on education, experience, and other qualifications.


Candidates chosen through our highly competitive selection process will be based in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania, just outside of Philadelphia for the majority of the 24-month program. Here, participants will partake in a two-week orientation program, prior to beginning their first rotation.

Year 1

  • Two six-month rotations in tracked functional area
  • Week-long quarterly reflection offsite after each rotation
  • Spend time at Tokio Marine Holdings in Tokyo, Japan
  • Join Tokio Marine’s premier, global leadership program - Emerging Leaders Program

Year 2

  • Finish second rotation and have a third and final six-month rotation
  • Continue work toward a professional certification
  • Visit a Tokio Marine Group company abroad
  • Finish participation in the Emerging Leaders Program
  • Prepare for Year 3 assignment abroad

Professional Development Planning

Each participant will work with a mentor to create a customized development plan toward relevant professional accreditation (e.g. CPA certification for accountants, CAS certification for actuaries, CIA or CISA certification for internal auditors, PHR certification for HR professionals, etc.) All participants will receive feedback and one-on-one mentoring as well as assessment and performance evaluations. Participants may be offered global placement based on their individual development plan and will continue planning for professional growth beyond the Management Associate Program.
